Just wanted to let you know that you all looked very professional and alert when I visited you last Friday...I was glad to see you helping students and generally looking sharp!
Did the principal in the suburban school get a chance to meet with you later in the day? (Just checking).
What were some of the things the principals talked about?
I'd love to hear a little about your experience here on the Blog...anything you want to share?

When we first went to the Harrison school we were all there extremely early. The principal let us pick what grade we were interested in. She told us that it had classes in the building that were ESL and their were no Special Education classes
Nick
The atmosphere at Harrison seemed really casual so I did feel a bit overdressed, but I'm prepared for College Friday...bought myself a t-shirt on sale..apparently I do not own any college garb. The principal seemed really relax, I even got to sit in at the 1st grade staff meeting and she was there and they all spoke freely as if I wasn't in the room or was part of them. As far as the classroom, I was able to jump right in and help check homework and tests, the teacher I was assigned to pretty much said I'd expect you to just pitch in. The one experience I've been sharing with friends is how amazed I am with the order in the classroom, how they get up and push their chairs in and just the overall atmosphere was one of order.
I thought Harrison was great. The principal was so young I couldn't believe it. She was really nice to us. I too felt over dressed but it's nice that we have college friday coming up so we can feel a little bit more comfortable. Everyone was really friendly and it was great at lunch time we got to be part of a birthday party, so that was fun.
As for that college friday day this friday. What are we allowed to wear for a male is a kean t-shirt and dress pants ok??
That would be fine, Nick.
We did get a chance to have a quick group meeting with the principal at Hehnly after school. Should we be interviewing these principals for info for the Contextual Factors? I have a lot of questions about that assignment. Prof. Tomich: Can we discuss in detail when we meet next week?
This friday is Dress Down friday at Hehnly but the teacher nor the principallet told me I could dress down. I assume I shouldn't?
Mindy,
I dont know if we can or not. I was thinking about it myself.
