A forum for students to share their initial field observations, comments on readings, and suggestions and recommendations from research on the web and elsewhere.
It was amazing I had such a good time. The staff at Harrison were great, they were very helpful and actually seemed to enjoy having us there. The kids were great and the whole day was really interesting and very helpful for future career choices. I can't wait until next week.
I was pleasantly surprised on how well behaved the children are. The staff all seem to be very accommodating and I was also surprised that they let you pick the grade you'd like to observe, it gave me the impression that all of the teachers are alright with having someone in their classroom.
I really enjoyed my visit today! The teacher allowed me to be very much a part of the class. I found and showed a video about the launching of a space craft into space and another about the way the circulatory system operates. I also had the chance to dictate a spelling and sentence test! I did however feel that the routine of the day was very much rushed. Overall, I thought the children were also well-behaved and my cooperating teacher was very friendly and welcoming. Mrs. Chandler was part of the 1st graduating class of Kean's Union campus too! Can't wait until Friday!
Sorry, Mindy--I didn't want to take the camera out in front of the principal and teacherr...lol...
The answer to your questions above have been answered...one assignment--choose A or B for this one and C for the next one...both field report and reflection are due next week via email. Check the earlier entry for details about how to save/send the assignments to me. It's in the email exchange Maija cut and paste into the Blog.
I'll try to get your and Maija's photo up next time!
Friday's field visit was great! I was with 2 kindergarten classes, the morning and afternoon sessions. The kids were a lot of fun. For the most part all I did was observe. I did participate in a few of the activities. Next week the teacher says she will integrate me more into the class. I am so excited for next week. I can't wait!

I thought the kids were well-behaved too. And it's a Friday! I was mostly a spectator today, though next week my teacher said she'll put me to work.
