2nd round
We've got Maria & Mayra for May 2nd...we could use about 4 more for that day; don't be shy...thanks you two!
After reading the article: Top 10 Common Teaching Mistakes For Teachers To Avoid, I started doing some research and I found some very interesting information. I wanted to know if I could do my 2nd presentation on: The Do's and Dont's of Teaching.
I guess I'm having "blog" problems. I sent a blog out the other day and looking around now noticed it didn't post even though I triple checked it. Anyway I was making a suggestion that if someone can please do a presentation on the Different State tests that are administered. I know about the NJ Ask and that it starts in 3rd grade and recently just heard of HESPA which I still have no idea what it is. I think as future teachers we need to know what the tests are, what are the contents, how are they administered, grade levels etc. I think if we armed with this information we can better improve on the curriculum given to us. I'm not saying we should teach just to get our students to pass the tests, but knowing what is actually expected might help us.
Maria, the HESPA exam is for High School Juniors i believe and the GEPA is for 8th graders.
Also, Prof. Tomich if you are still looking for presenters for May 2nd I would like to go. I want to present the D.I.B.E.L.S. assessment we heard about today. Does that work?
My Parent-Teacher Partnership will be a SHORT and sweet roundup of advice from the pros. It can even be a handout, which will leave time for everyone else.

Sounds good Mindy...how many are we up to now? I hope it's not too much for us! Let's figure it all out when we meet in two weeks.
